Hi there! I’m Skylar, The creative behind the camera

Having grown up in Maine, I originally started taking photos of its beautiful landscapes. I felt so grateful to grow up here, and I wanted to find a way to share my love of nature with others. That’s when I found photography and filmmaking. My love for Maine fueled my landscape career and eventually put me on the path of weddings and elopements. I started implementing my knowledge of landscapes into my portraits and films. That's when I started delivering modern frames that I am so proud of today.

I’ve always been driven to get outside and be in touch with nature. I’d much rather live in a place like Acadia, where you are completely free compared to the hustle and bustle of busy cities. However, I do love my day trips to Boston for Red Sox and Bruins games. There is just nothing like being in nature. Hiking, traveling, and capturing your stories have taken me to some incredible places I would have never dreamt of going. From the rocky coasts of Maine to the steep mountains of Colorado, to the sandy beaches of Florida. I love it all, but what I love most is capturing the best day of my couple’s lives. I will tear up when you read your vows, and I will capture every moment of your precious day so you can look back and relive it over and over again.

I continually fall in love with filmmaking. Being a part of your special day makes my job so fulfilling. Yes, I offer photo and video. I have 8 years of experience doing photo and 3 years of video. If you happen to want both on your special day. I will be covering the video while one of my very experienced associate shooters will cover the photo of the day. We always work hand and hand to make sure you get the consistent and amazing look that you so very love. All photo and video is edited by Skylar!
Packages start at $4000 for photos or video and increase based on the package. I offer packages ranging up to $8000. With my most purchased package at $7000 for photo and a 4-5 minute video for 8 hours of coverage.
As soon as you are ready to make a commitment to me joining your wedding team, I recommend booking! I take weddings on a first come, first serve basis. A deposit and signed contract is required to secure your date with me. Most couples book 12-15 months ahead of their wedding date, though some who want to guarantee my availability book up to 18 months in advance.
This is a great question, and it generally all depends on your day! I think 8 hours is the perfect sweet spot. It allows you to have a fantastic amount of getting ready photos, all the photos you’d like throughout the day, and any fun stuff you’d like in the evening before everyone gets a little too messy for photos.

Why I became a wedding photographer in Portland, Maine

Growing up in Maine, I was always surrounded by natural beauty—from the rugged coastline to the peaceful forests—and that environment shaped who I am. I originally picked up a camera to capture the landscapes I loved so much, simply as a way to share that appreciation with others. That love for nature and storytelling eventually led me to photography and filmmaking, and over time, my landscape work naturally evolved into documenting weddings and elopements.

What started as a passion for the outdoors turned into a career where I now get to blend my eye for nature with deeply personal moments. I began incorporating the depth and drama of Maine’s landscapes into my portrait work and wedding films, creating modern, cinematic frames that I’m incredibly proud of.

Being based in Portland gives me the best of both worlds—access to Maine’s breathtaking scenery and the vibrant energy of a small coastal city. I’ve always been someone who feels most at peace outside, whether I’m hiking in Acadia or traveling to a wedding in the Colorado mountains. There's truly nothing like being immersed in nature and capturing love stories in the middle of it all.
